Apple crisp is one of my families favorite desserts, especially in the fall when you can pick the apples right off the trees yourself. After a fun filled day of apple picking, we go home and make our first batch of apple crisp. The aroma fills the whole house of apples and cinnamon; the smell of autumn!

Ingredients

5 fresh apples (peeled, cored and sliced)

1 cup all purpose flour

3/4 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 egg, beaten

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat the oven for 10 minutes to 375 degrees.

Mix apples and brown sugar in a 9 inch baking pan. Use a mixing bowl to sift together the flour, salt, cinnamon and white sugar. In a medium sized bowl, beat the eggs in a small butter and add the melted butter. Transfer the sifted dry ingredients into the bowl with the wet ingredients and mix well. Spread the prepared mixture on top of the apples and bake in the oven for 35 40 minutes or until the apple topping is brown and crisp.
